Rat Cage “Not Asking For Much” LP
The third full-length album by “Yorkshire’s most Honorable Master of Mangel”. Ten years, over fourteen releases, banging-out the songs, “arming many Punks worldwide with a soundtrack to survival in the modern age of death and destruction”, one of the primary hardcore punk bands of the current UK underground prove that they are still as relevant and on-fire as they ever were before. The finesse and the experience keeps piling-up, continuing on an upward trajectory; a little more diversity of styles – an occasional melodic backing vocal, or a one off acoustic strum (yes, really) – but really, no major deviation from the tried and tested template. A few listens in, this sounds like the best Rat Cage recording to date.
