Punitive Damage – “Hate Training” 12″
Proving that they are here for the long run, with this new six track extended player this band from the Pacific Northwest region of America further establish themselves as front runners in the current crop international hardcore punk. Picking up where 2022’s full-length This Is The Blackout left off, this continue the top-speed rage and aggression. I don’t get to study lyric sheet nearly as much as would like to (music, bands, records, there’s just so much of it!), but I get a sense that Punitive Damage are serious reminded and switched-on to social causes. They’re definitely super fucking angry. Hardcore punk without protest is coffee without caffeine. This 12″ is pure expresso. And I’ve got the jitters.
