The long-serving creative force that is Bavaria’s Notwist. They broke big across the world in 2002 with the album Neon Golden. Back in time, before their electro beats and dreamy indie-pop tunes, and much less known, The Notwist were once a veritable powerhouse of hardcore punk and crossover metal (check out Nook from 1992, a jaw-droping blend of mid-period Bad Brains and Squirrel Bait). 12 is their third album, released in 1995 – considered to be their transition recording, the first to feature electonic beats and Slint-like, post-rock atmosphere.
