NEGATIVE BLAST – “Destroy Myself For Fun” LP

An eclectic San Diego band, built from past membership of Lewd Acts, Hour of the Wolf, [CON•TACT], Decent Criminal, Human Issue, following-up 2023’s debut album, Echo Planet, with a second full-length of high-octane modern punk. A hard one to classify – and in a good way – Negative Blast fit in with many contemporary bands, and you could easily place them on a bill with any number of bands on Convulse Records… and also, less hardcore, Drug Church, or Spiritual cramp; while also maintaining a position of out-of-step outsiders. Keep in mind they are from San Diego. And that this a co-release between Vitriol Records (run by a member of Graf Orlock, Ghostlimb etc.) and Three One G (run by a member of The Locust, Swing Kids etc.). Also, in terms of energy levels Hot Snakes are an obvious comparison, too.
