The Hattiesburg, Mississippi electronic-punk band have refined and expanded their trademark synth-punk even further beyond their debut 2023 full-length, Post-American. The arrival of the words electro and punk should always strike fearful apprehension into the mind of a sane music lover. Thankfully, questionable sanity aside, these electronically-minded punks prove that there are always exceptions. And to be fair, aside from the lack of guitar, it’s trad bass/drums/ vocals that are the dominant instruments here – almost as if Death From Above 1979 were fronted by a modern hardcore vocalist. In the context of arriving in the same shipment as the new Turnstile album, Never Enough, this 12″ from MSPaint makes even more sense – play this and feel pleased with yourself for being so fucking bang-on two thousand and twenty five. Ya’ mad bastard.
