With a new line-up and new label – switching from Deathwish to Equal Vision – this was Modern Life Is War’s third album, released in the summer of 2007, after a winter tour with Converge. Helped along immensely by the studio skills of J. Robbins, this album also expanded the bands’ musical area of coverage, beyond the group-shout hardcore fury and fist-pumping pounding; incorporating a story-teller narative, kind of like Bruce Spingsteen (and later emulated by Deafeater), while, when neccessary, still managing to blow the top off with some full throttle ragers – the track Fuck The Sex Pistols is just one of the best songs of that decade. No longer in a gatefold sleeve, this version includes a lyric insert and a fold out poster.
