Militarie Gun “God Save The Gun” LP
The second album from the Los Angeles, California, alternative rock band. More commercially orientated rock/pop – what was once, Stateside, called college rock (maybe it still is) – but via aggressive, noise-levels that belie the band’s irreversible hardcore DNA. I mean, is Ian Shelton still blasting-out the decade’s best power violence in his other band, Regional Justice Center? Gotta’ salute the guys dual-personality approach to creating exciting, contemporary music. Ooh-ooh! There’s a tonne of influences here that they’ve heartily tucked into, I’m sure – many of which are of current trends of which I am blissfully unaware, but once again, just like with Angel Du$t, no matter what weird mainstream ideas they plunder it’s bloody hard not to enjoy a new Militarie Gun record.
