Description

Menace – “I Need Nothing” 7″

First generation London punk, and proper underdogs from the start. Compared to the ’77 punk bands we know so well – the serious-minded Clash, the art school Adam And The Ants/Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the muso orientated Stranglers/Ruts – Menace were the unsophisticated council estate boot boys, out on a limb, bouncing alongside Eater, UK Subs, Cock Sparrer, Sham 69 and the Cockney Rejects. Best known for their GLC 7″ on Small Wonder (1978), I Need Nothing, their third 7″ was released the same year on Illegal Records. This US repress, an almost faithful reproduction of the original, also includes an additional unreleased song, “I Like Chips”.
