Imaginative and magnificent, Leviathan has become a classic metal album of it’s time. Masterpiece is an over used word… but, call me Ishmael, this is the Mastodon recording that I can happily return to again and again… and probably always will. The second recording(released in 2004) and their first concept album, loosely based on Melville’s Moby-Dick, representing the water element, in keeping with the elemental theme of the band’s first four albums. Among the musical guests collaborating on this album is Scott Kelly of Neurosis. 2022 repress on gold vinyl. The eighteenth vinyl pressing!
