LOCUST – “The Peel Sessions” LP (‘Sexually Transmitted Disease’)
The John Peel session recorded in 2001 at the Maida Vale Studios in London, for broadcast via the BBC across an ungrateful nation. Served them right. Sixteen tracks of prime time controlled chaos and electro-fuelled beauty. First pressed in 2010 by The Locust’s imprint label, Radio Surgery, it is now being shared via Three One G in a new remastered edition with two different vinyl variants, entitled ‘Sexually Transmitted Disease’ (this one), and ‘Skin Graft’. Listening back, The Locust must have been heavily influenced (and indebted) to John Zorn’s Naked City.
