A reissue of the debut album – from 1982 – by the legendary Scandiavian punks. One of the first and also best known bands of Finland’s rich punk legacy, Lama were established in Helsinki back in 1977, and they were also one of the first to push the punk sound of the 70’s into the hardcore sound of the 80’s, and beyond. At the time, due to the scarcity of their records outside of Finland – very few copies were exported – they were less recognised globally (compared to Terveet Kädet and Rattus), although, folk at Maximum Rocknroll pounced-on them pretty quick (as too, I’m sure, did members of Poison Idea ). A stela example of early European hardcore, with traces of early North American bands such as DOA and Crucifix, but given the added boost of that distinct, ear scorching , Finnish energy – much celebrated ever since, and for which these pioneers take a large portion of credit.
