Kill The Messenger – “All The Angels Crash And Burn” 10″
Late 1990’s hardcore-punk band from San Francisco, California, USA. Formed in 1998 by ex-Outspoken members, John Coyle and Dennis Remsing. Both were equally great bands, but where Outspoken successfully rode the crest of early to mid nineties sXe (becoming one of the best bands on the New Age label), Kill The Messenger opted for a different route, back to the past glory of Bl’ast! and Black Flag – and as 80’s hardcore was a less celebrated influence in those days (especially compared to today) perhaps that was the reason they became slightly overlooked. And as such, this mini album of 1999 is what I have always considered to be an underrated hardcore gem. Play the track “Slowburn” and you’ll hear what I mean.
