Description
Hope? “Hell On Planet Earth” LP
Portland and Minneapolis friends unite to solidify a new lineup of this political punk band that are heavily reminiscent of the 90’s US crust scene. Solid, fast-speed drumming keeps things at a healthy galloping pace, a constant forward momentum that allows the frantic guitar riffs to cut through, with scope for those extra high-end flourishes – for that epic, expanded sound. The vitriolic trade-off vocals immediately bring to mind Nausea, naturalmente. And add any random Profane Existence band from 1990 onwards – State Of Fear, Detestation – as further influences. Ultimately delivering-up a style that is instantly familiar to those that dig contemporary bands like Flower and Lifeless Dark. And Hope? are easily as good, if not, in some respects, even better. Released by Agipunk Records in Europe, and Desolate Records in the US with a different sleeve.
