Hoover – “The Lurid Traversal Of Route 7” LP
Out of print for many years, Dischord have remastered the now-classic “The Lurid Transversal Of Route 7“, one of thee most essential releases to come out of that label in the 1990s. Following the path of their elders (Fugazi, Slint and Girls Against Boys), Hoover took a post-hardcore direction into exciting new territories of jazzy bass-lead grooves, full of atmospheric tension and dynamic surges of sonic release. From 1994, this was their first and only full-length album. Has to be said, unkike their namesake, they defnitely didn’t suck.
