High On Fire – “The Art of Self Defence” Double LP
The early years of Matt Pike’s trio of Warhammer veterans, the debut studio album that was released originally by Man’s Ruin Records as a CD in 2000. Along with the six tracks from the debut album (recorded by Billy Anderson at Shark Bite Studios in Oakland, natch) this 2021 repress on Southern Lord also includes the first demo, from 1999 (3 tracks), and also the two tracks from the 7″ that Tee Pee added to their vinyl version of 2001. Double vinyl, including a 24 page booklet, all wrapped-up within a stomping gurt gatefold sleeve because music this hard and heavy requires hard and heavy packaging. Remastered and restored with the help of Brad Boatright.
