The fourth album by Oakland’s High On Fire and the first recording to feature Jeff Matz (Zeke) on bass guitar. Hard-edged rock with galloping rhythms and explosive riffs, given a cleaner, bigger production by Jack Endino. An album that has been considered to be the ranking equivalent to Sleep’s Jerusalem. Apparently, axeman and lyricist Matt Pike was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft for this album. But then, who isn’t inspired by H.P. Lovecraft?
