Description
Gudon “Devil of Mediocrity” 7″
A reunited Japanese hardcore band that originally formed all the way back in 1984. And in Hiroshima , too. Hiroshima? 1984? That’s uber high-level punk status from the off, surely? Gudon came after the early ’80s acts like the Comes and Execute, bridging the gap between later Burning Spirits bands like Bastard and Judgement (both of whom featured Gudon guitarist Zigyaku). Considering their age and the chequered history of reunited classic punk bands the unexpected surprise here is how super fucking ferocious this sounds. A powerhouse record in traditional Japanese style showcasing where Gudon is at now: as crazed and devastating as before. Originally released on Blood Sucker Records in 2024. This is the 2026 US press on SPHC Records.
“A crucial and impressive slab from this legendary group.” – M.R.R.
