HARDcore out of Washington, DC, this is the real deal. By my reckoning their previous Number Game 7″, released by 11PM Records in 2023, didn’t garner nearly enough attention. I hope this is the record that changes that. Meat and potatoes hardcore punk takes no real talent or skill to master, or even just knock together within one practise – and yet, making it sound addictively good, with repeated playbacks, takes some real charm, or good luck, or whatever it is…. well, Grand Scheme have got it. Breakneck speed, aural violence and angry, plainspoken lyrics – done, somehow, just right.
