G.I.S.M. – “Detestation” LP

The cult of Tokyo’s 1980s phenomenon that was Gism (ギズム, Gizumu) is a very weird and wonderous thing. Starting for many punks, the world over, with an introduction through the infamous P.E.A.C.E. international benefit compilation that Dave Dictor and the M.R.R. crew heroically collected together in 1984 (one of the peak achievements of 1980s punk culture). Who wasn’t struck dumb and confounded by the high-speed madness of Endless Blockades For The Pussy Footer? – a track taken from this album, Detestation, their debut, released in 1983 by Dogma Records. Mythological stories and rumours aside, this is the first authorised reissue of this cult classic, reproduced as a faithful replica of the original version, cos punks is still hippies.
