Drivel – Self-titled 7″
A fresh, new take on good ‘ol power violence from the American capital. Five tracks of reverb-drenched, blast-beat-driven sonic mayhem. Along with bands like Deliriant Nerve, Washington DC is currently on a power-violence/grindcore awakening, forging new weapons to aim aimed directly at the heart of power and complacency in which they live. Drivel lean towards the hardcore punk end of the spectrum, drawing from some classic power violence: No Comment, Pig Destroyer and Agoraphobic Nosebleed (Richard Johnson of Agoraphobic Nosebleed/Enemy Soil does guests on one track, with a Warthog style mid-pace to break things-up.
