Detestation – self-titled LP
From a time before the familiar Portland, Oregon noise-punk sound that we now take for granted was established. Detestation were the original trail blazers. A classic from 1998 of anarcho-hardcore punk. Socio-political fury that was a mix between Nausea and Sacrilege with added influences from old Swedish bands. Their interconnected Portland line-up contained ties to Defiance, Masskontroll, Resist, Hellshock, and Severed Head of State, among others.
