DEAD HEAT – “Process Of Elimination” LP

The crossover thrash-heads of Oxnard, California, get to release their third album, now with Metal Blade Records – maybe it’s break-through time?
Following-up 2023’s Endless Torment EP with eleven new tracks that, while not qualifying as reinvention – sticking faithfully as they have to their modern-day-hardcore take on 80’s inspired thrash metal – it does, however, sound like a band who have been heavily revitalised with a whole new lease of life. Was Triple B the right label for them previously? Probably did no harm. Except, there is a huge audience out there, beyond a hardcore label, who lapped-up Power Trip and Municipal Waste, and all the signs are here that Dead Heat’s Metal Blade debut has set them firmly on course for the same direction. And, has to be said, this has the makings of an instant thrash metal classic. Metal mania awaits… left-foot, white high tops, on the monitors…
