Dazzling Killmen – “Dig Out The Switch: Remastered Edition” LP
Originally released in 1992, the debut album by the St. Louis, Missouri math rock pioneers.
Now considered a landmark record, but one that was unusually hard to classify – a contributing factor as to how and why is was able to slip under the radar upon its initial release. Through word of mouth it has built up a following ever since, receiving name-drops from members of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Coalesce, Pg. 99, and KEN mode. Their second album, Face of Collapse, from 1994 is now recognised as genre defining; while 1992’s Dig Out the Switch caught the band in their formative state: raw, volatile, and pushing hardcore to the brink of musical combustion. Engineered by Steve Albini and produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy; this edition has been fully remastered and repackaged. Members of Dazzling Killmen went on to play in The Mars Volta, Tweedy and Upright Forms.
Warning: these copies suffered a (minor) corner crumple at some point in transit – check photo (although barely visible) – marked down in price accordingly.
