D.Sablu “Righteous Light” 7″
New Orleans punks debut their first 7″ on 11 PM Records. Breakneck speed delivers a retro sound of classic USHC, slightly snotty, lottsa attitude, but without any obvious comparisons to be made. A familiar template that we all know and love, and it’s one that these guys have successfully managed to make all their own. A sonic blast of fresh air (fresh, but not without an odour or two of something a little ripe). The Bandcamp-bio references No Way Records for influences, along with “something reminiscent of Carbonas meets Southside Stranglers”. D.Sablu appears to be essentially a one-man project – but I can’t be sure? D. Sablu aka David Sabludowsky was a member of Casual Burn. And it seems for this recording he is backed-up by some friends on bass, guitar and drums. Final word to Maximum Rocknroll: “This honestly kicks some serious arse.”
