Cosmic Psychos – “Down On the Farm” LP
The debut 12″ by this notorious Australian punk trio, released in 1985 on Mr Spaceman Records. Skuzzy, unsophisticated garage rock, recorded onto 2-track, “equal parts Stooges riffs, Ramones tempos, lashings of wah wah guitar, American 1980s hardcore attitude and a healthy dose of yobbo humour”. A pretty big influence on the grunge sound that was waiting around the corner. But with added hard-drinking, no-shits-given, authenticity. Toecutter and Nightrider were big fans.
