COLD SHOWERS – s/t 7″

Plymouth based punk band with post-hardcore leanings release their debut 5 track EP on the consistently brilliant UK label, Crew Cuts.
The bandcamp bio makes mention of a Washington DC hardcore influence – true enough, (bands fronted by Shaun Brown will set you in the right direction), but perhaps these chaps draw their inspiration from more recent bands who in turn provide a secondhand Dischord influence. I’m thinking bands like Self Defense Family and Truth Cult. The stream of narrative vocal style especially brings to mind the same approach adopted by Patrick Kindlon. Ultimately, if you fancy checking out a new, rough-edged home grown version of Iron Chic, Basement, Title Fight and Drug Church, then you’ve got yourself an absolute winner.
