Cavity “Somewhere Between The Train Station And The Dumping Grounds” LP
Formed in Miami, Florida back in the early 1990s, Cavity were scrappy young hardcore punks who took on the mantle of slow ‘n heavy and ended-up unleashing the all-time definitive hardcore-meets doom-sludge sound. Floor did a great did a great job of it, too, albeit operating in a different sphere of sonic grind (and there was a fair bit of crossover in membership between the two bands), but, somehow Cavity nailed the evil-blues groove-metal-punk vibes like no one else; better – in my opinion at least – than Eye Hate God, or Buzzoven. This is their second full-length, back in press for the first time since it was originally released by Rhetoric Records back in 1997. A welcome return of an old favourite.
