An experimental hard-rock psychedelic masterpiece that devastated the musical landscape of the late ’80s. Absolutely of its time – if ever there was a band suited to explore the theme of sexual abuse… it wasn’t the Butthole Surfers… but, “22 going on 23” aside, this is still a mind-blowing sonic experience that deserves a place in the family home, (where head-fucking weirdness belongs). Hearing it again is a reminder that underneath all the terrifying drug induced mayhem there was a pretty slick gang of hardworking musicians at play. Their third album, recorded in 1986 at the band’s home studio in Austin Texas, it was also the first Surfers full-length to feature the Gibbytronix vocal effect.
