More sharp-witted pop tunes from this New York art-punk ensemble. 2019’s mini-album/second LP, following the critically popular Endless Scroll of 2018. Seven tracks of breezy hook-filled songs chock full of scratchy guitar interplay and a simple percussive drive. Echoing many post-punk/noise rock sounds of the past (the vocals remind me of Les Savy Fav, which I especially like. Big Les Savy Fav fan, me), but also comfortably fitting-in alongside Parquet Courts, Uranium Club, Black Midi and Shame. And featuring plenty more sublime, modern-life-is-a-bit-shit, social critiques from singer Ben Hozie.
