Description

Bob Tilton – “The Leading Hotels Of The World” LP

One of the best DIY bands that were active in the UK of the 1990’s. Was it post-hardcore? emo? math-rock? it didn’t really matter then. And it doesn’t matter now. A time in music that was fortunate in it’s rich array of influential bands: Slint, Fugazi, Rites Of Spring, Shellac, Sunny Day Real Estate, Born Against, Drive Like Jehu etc. etc. Along with Schema, Baby Harp Seal, Fabric (and, it shouldn’t be forgot, early Mogwai, too), Nottingham-based five piece Bob Tilton took those American influences and reinvented them with their own regional/national distinction. An equivalent of what was happening in the US with Christie Front Drive, Mineral, Boilermaker and Indian Summer etc. Recorded and released by the band in 1999, this was their second full-length, and final swan song.
