Description
Big Shipping “Nobody Asked For This” LP
Extra Strength post hardcore/noise rock on a debut release for this new Exeter based band. Big Shipping are one to keep an ear/eye-out for, could well be a band on the ascendance to somewhere special. A very powerful debut. With a level of solidity and expertise that clearly indicates ‘ex-members of’… but, I don’t who… will find out. Nine tracks that thump hard, with a Shellac-like precision, coupled with a nod to the droney melodies of Quicksand and discordant tension of Fugazi/Jawbox. The vocalist’s frustrated rant-like quality is a bonus, and kind of uniquely UK sounding, at times – when the tempo allows it – delivering it like the guy from Sleaford Mods. Aside from the acknowledgement of Touch & Go and Dischord, fans of Drug Church, Fiddlehead, USA Nails will dig this too.
