BB And The Blips – “Shame Job” LP
“A ten song investigation into the uses and abuses of shame in various contexts, from nations and prisons to family and sex, these perfectly punk packages burst forth from the meeting point of first wave Sydney bands like Tactics or Thought Criminals and the caustic anarcho genius of early Crass”… I’m not familiar with the 70’s post-punk sounds of the aforementioned Australian bands, but I can certainly agree with the Crass comparison. The vocals in particular have the same range and vitriolic bite as Eve Libertine. But the speed and punch of the music is much more contemporary, somwhere between Crass and G.L.O.S.S. (is that random enough for ya’?). Featuring members of (the UK’s) Good Throb, The Sceptres, Semi and Housewives, and based in Sydney.
