Amorphis – “Tales From The Thousand Lakes” LP
The second full-length album by the Finnish metal band. Predominantly based around death metal, but edging towards doom, along with more melodic, heavy metal-inspired riffing and elements of progressive rock and traditional Finnish folk music (yikes!) – in keeping with the name, derived from the word “amorphous”, meaning ‘no determinate form or shape’. This 2020 reissue of the album (that was originally released in 1994) is the ‘Thousand Lakes Waterfall Edition’. Pretty silly, but also great fun.
